Matt Bloom graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014 with his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology, with a specialty in Addictions and Offender Counseling. This specialty led Matt to become a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) a few years prior to him becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Additionally, Matt is currently working towards his doctorate. He has over 5 years of experience working with addictions, co-occurring disorders, and a variety of other mental health struggles in mainly an outpatient setting with some inpatient experience. Matt has a number of evidenced based practices that he utilizes to help individuals live a better life in accordance with their values, morals, and goals. These practices include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) used in conjunction with a strong empathetic alliance and bond. Matt understands that all behavior makes sense if you understand the belief system and seeks to understand on an individual, as well as systems level, the needs and purpose that behavior(s) serve. The number one objective is to meet the needs of the individual in a way that is in line with one’s goals.
