Kira is passionate about serving children, adolescents and families, working alongside them to not only survive through life’s various changes and stressors, but to grow and thrive with them. Kira is a psychologist currently licensed in DE and NJ (pursuing licensure in PA). She graduated in 2015 with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Concentration: Child and Family Psychology) from La Salle University. She has worked in children’s hospitals and primary/specialty care settings, as well as community mental health centers. Kira believes in approaching all presenting concerns from a biopsychosocial model, exploring the connection between physical health, mental health, and social environments (family, peer, school/work, culture, and larger systems).
Kira’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), applying these principles to each individual and family in a unique way to include culture, family dynamics, and personal characteristics. While her foundational approach is CBT, she utilizes a variety of different tools and strategies to help each child, adolescent, and family accomplish their goals. Kira believes that the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and strives to provide a safe and welcoming space to explore yourself, your relationship to others, and how you interact with your environment.
